Beef puff is a flaky, buttery pastry that is filled with savoury curry beef and onions. It is easy to prepare and absolutely delicious!

Puff pastry is a type of laminated dough famous for paper-thin sheets of soft, yet crackly pastry. It is made by repeated folding of dough and cold butter, punctuated with chilling periods.
Filling

To make a Beef puff, you’ll need a store bought or homemade rough puff pastry sheet, beef curry filling and egg wash. I purchase Pepperidge Farm puff pastry sheets which are conveniently available in the freezer section of most grocery stores. First, prepare the beef curry filling. In a skillet, cook the onions and garlic until softened then add ground beef and cook until browned. Add curry powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder, sugar and salt to taste. Stir well. Finally, stir in the beef broth and cook until it thickens. Let cool.

Spoon 1 tbsp of the beef filling onto each puff pastry rectangle and fold over to create triangles. Wet your fingers and paste the edges together. Brush the tops with beaten egg. Place on a parchment lined baking sheet and bake for about 20 minutes until golden brown. Let cool before serving. If you’re not able to finish all of them in one sitting, they can be stored and reheated in a toaster oven.
Preparation

The main ingredients for this recipe are puff pastry sheets and ground beef. Puff pastry is a light and airy dough that uses butter within it to achieve its light texture. It is made by rolling out the dough and folding it over itself repeatedly. It is used for many savory dishes including empanadas, which are baked or fried Latin American stuffed pastries.

In a pan, add the oil and add the onions, garlic and cook until translucent. Add the ground beef and stir well with a flat spatula breaking up any lumps that have formed. Add the curry powder, garam masala, salt, cayenne pepper and sugar and cook for a few minutes.

Let the beef mixture cool slightly and beat the egg lightly, save some of it for brushing on top of the puffs. Place the puffs on a baking sheet with an inch of space between each one. Brush each with the beaten egg and bake for 20 minutes.

Puff pastry is a light flakey dough made from repeated rolling and folding, which results in thin layers of crisp dough sandwiched with butter. This makes for a delightfully rich hand-held delight.

To make these amazing Puff Pastry Beef Taco Pinwheels, first add the ground beef to a skillet and cook it until browned, breaking up with a spoon as you go. Drain any excess grease if needed. Stir in ketchup and mustard until combined, then let cool.

Next, add oregano, paprika, garlic powder, chili powder, salt and pepper to the cooled meat mixture. Stir well, then transfer to a bowl and set aside to cool.

Unfold a puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured flat surface, then brush it lightly with egg and spread with half the ground beef mixture. Sprinkle with shredded cheese and roll up tightly like cinnamon rolls. Cut in half inch pieces, and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Repeat with remaining pastry and filling. Bake at 400 degrees F for 18-20 minutes until golden and puffed. Serve with lime crema.
Serving

When a beef fillet is smeared with mustard, topped with a duxelle of mushrooms and pate and covered in puff pastry it is called a Beef Wellington. This once was the Saturday night triumph of the suburbs, but it has fallen out of favour for some reason.

It is a little more labor intensive than simply preparing a sausage roll or meat pie, but the results are worth it. This is a light meal that can be eaten at lunch or dinner, and you can even make it ahead of time and freeze it.

The beef curry puff is a tasty and unique appetizer to serve at a party or gathering. They are also a great snack for kids. They can be served with a splash of lemon juice or pomegranate molasses, and they go well with a Tabbouleh or Hummus salad. When serving, these puffs should be brushed with egg wash to give them a glossy finish.بف لحم
